Thinking about selling CBD products on your Squarespace website?

There are a few things to know ahead of time. Most importantly, you won't be able to use the built-in Squarespace e-commerce for your online sales. Squarespace uses Stripe and PayPal for their e-commerce payment gateways and neither of those allows for the sale of CBD products.

In fact, this is the exact same process I use to set up CBD stores for my own clients. We’ll pair the Square payment gateway with a third-party e-commerce platform that we’ll embed into your website.

Important: You will also need to follow regulations that vary by local area. Some good places to get started are to review federal laws for CBD products and check CBD legalization by state.

FAQs

How easy is it, really?

It depends on your skill set. If following instructional videos is not typically daunting for you, I’d say you’ve got this! I break everything down into short videos and small steps.

How long is this course?

There are just under an hour of videos in the course, ranging in length from 1 minute to 8 minutes per video. Everything is self-paced… you can speed things up, slow them down, and pause as needed. Work through the course over a day or do a little each day for a week - it’s up to you.

Is this course for Squarespace 7.0 or 7.1?

Both! You can use the same steps for either version of Squarespace for US-based shops.

What Squarespace hosting plan will I need?

You’ll need to be on the Business Plan to allow us to embed the shop. You do NOT need to have a Commerce plan.

What if I need extra help or have more questions?

The platforms I recommend in the course have great customer service! You can reach out to them directly for free help. If you’d like to hire me to help with setup, you can do that too. I’m doing my best to keep the course cost low.

Will this work for selling CBD on Squarespace for shops outside the US?

I’ve only used this process for US-based clients. My guess is that you could use the shop process I walk through here and connect a different payment processor for CBD products based on your location, but I don’t know for certain.
