How to move Squarespace blog posts from one site to another
Since the release of Squarespace 7.1 in 2020, more and more people are rebuilding their sites on the newer version of Squarespace. Because Squarespace doesn’t offer a migration path, rebuilding your site from scratch can seem like a daunting task. But there is a tool that can make this much faster and easier.
This method also works for moving blogs from one 7.0 site to another as well as one 7.1 site to another.
Export and Import Blog Posts (and pages) from one Squarespace site to another
I use the SquarespaceWebsites Tools Extension to port over pages and entire blogs from 7.0 to 7.1 sites. To get started:
Visit the SquarespaceWebsites Tools Extension page and click the button to install the extension on your Chrome browser.
Sign up for a monthly or annual plan. There is a free trial for 5 days and a LITE version that allows you to import/export collections for $5/month. If you are a Squarespace designer, I recommend the PRO version which includes content presets and Admin UI tweaks at $18/month.
Watch the video below to show you step by step how to move a page or blog from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1.
If you don’t want to invest in the extension, you can book a screen-share with me and I’ll port over your pages or blogs for you.
