Meet Christy
I grew up on a farm in rural Tennessee, when the world was a much simpler place. There were no iPhones, no social media, and the internet was dial-up. So I spent my days exploring the woods behind my house, playing with my friends in the creek, and helping my parents on the farm.
When I was in middle school, my parents got me a computer. It was a Commodore 64, and it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. I spent hours playing Zork on it, but I also started to learn how to program. I remember the first code I tried - typing it in from a magazine to draw a spiral on the screen - and I was hooked.
In high school, I took a BASIC programming class and learned even more. In college, I learned how to write more complex programs in other languages. In graduate school, I started building websites for fun while I studied cognitive psychology.
I had always thought my path would lead to becoming a college professor, but while I loved teaching, life throws curve balls and I ended up leaving graduate school before finishing my dissertation. So I took a job with a (yep, you guessed it) web development company and learned from the designers there.
Today, even though the world looks a lot different (goodbye Netscape Navigator and hello no-code solutions), I am still excited about building websites. I love the challenge of creating something that is both beautiful and functional. And the cherry on top is that I still get to teach! I show clients, customers, and random YouTube viewers, how to use Squarespace and make their websites their own.
My clients say they love my calm and patient approach to web design. I think that’s in large part due to understanding that, unlike the farm, there are no true emergencies, no life or death situations, in web design.
So let’s dive in together. Check out my templates to jumpstart your DIY site, or if you want to hand off your site build, take a look at my Custom Build and Two-Day Website services.

Experience
I've been working in web design in Austin, Texas, for over 20 years. Whether I’m working on user experience for large systems or websites for small business, I focus on design that maintains a balance of beauty and usability.
Philosophy
I am not a fan of the “hustle” mentality. Web design is NOT my side hustle; it’s my profession and a job that I love. When I create your website, rest assured that you will be my main focus.
I’ll incorporate both design and SEO best practices while showcasing the amazing work you do. Then I’ll teach you how to make basic updates yourself on the Squarespace platform so that you can take care of editing your website with ease.
Education
M.A., Cognitive Psychology, University of Texas at Austin
B.S., Tennessee Technological University
Personal
My husband David and I moved to Austin, Texas, for grad school and never left. We live in a house on a hill with our labrador retrievers (one naughty, one nice).
“In addition to a sharp eye for design, Christy Price brings professionalism, thoughtfulness, structure, and flexibility to the table. We couldn’t be happier with our site, which was the result of real collaboration.”
