What does a typical Designer for a Day look like?
We usually work from 9:30am - 3pm CST with a 30 minute break for lunch. As for what we work on, there is no “typical” day! We can gear the day toward your goals, so how we spend our time is flexible.
Do I get a break?
Yes! I take short breaks (5-10 minutes) each hour or so (included in the 5 hours) and a 30 minute lunch break (not included in the 5 hours). You can take breaks whenever you like.
Can we complete an entire website in Designer for a Day?
Unfortunately not. 5 hours just isn’t enough for creating a website top to bottom, but we can get a good start. We’ll make sure you are starting with the correct template and back-end settings, set up your site architecture and pages, and plug in your branding. I’ll teach you how to add content yourself so that you can complete the rest of your website.
Do you guarantee improved website conversions?
I’ll bring tons of experience and proven methodology to set your site up for the best chance of success. But nothing is a given online, and optimizing for conversions is an iterative (and experimental!) process that will take longer than this one session. But we’ll for sure get you started on the right track.
Will my site rank better after you’ve worked on it?
We’ll make sure that we address any key issues with your on-site SEO, however I can’t guarantee that you’ll experience a shift in how your site ranks after this session. SEO rankings change slowly over time, and while the Designer for a Day service will help to point you in the right direction, actual results will require ongoing work that we can map out in our session.
I’m not in Austin. Can I still hire you?
Absolutely. I’ve had clients from other states and other countries! We can run Designer for a Day remotely using my preferred tool, Zoom, for calls and screen sharing.
What if I still have questions or need changes after our day, but not enough for another full 5 hours?
With the Premium Package, you receive an hour post-work-day call as well as a week of email support. After that, or for those on the Standard Package, I also offer smaller blocks of time for other questions. You can book those here.
How does the week of email support from the Premium Package work?
For one week after our Designer for a Day session, you can email me any questions you have about your website. I’ll reply the following business day and include step-by-step instructions or a quick video with my response, if needed. If you’d like more assistance after the week is up, you can always book small blocks of time with me for Squarespace Help.

How do I book my day?
Select “Pick your day” in the pricing section above. You’ll be directed to my online scheduler where you can book your day and upgrade to the Premium Package if you’d like. If you do upgrade to the Premium Package, I’ll be in touch via email within 1-2 business days to schedule your 30 minute pre-work-day strategy call. Also, for the Premium Package, I recommend booking at least a week out so you can have time to work on items from our strategy call.
