Five Essentials to Pack for Working While Traveling
If you work while you travel, you already know this: productivity isn’t just about having a laptop and WiFi. It’s about setting yourself up so working on the road feels doable instead of frustrating.
Over time, I’ve narrowed this down to a few small tools I always pack. Nothing complicated. Just things that make working from hotels, coffee shops, airports, and airplanes more comfortable and efficient.
Here are five travel essentials I rely on every time I work while traveling. (Prefer to watch? Scroll down for the video ↓)
1. MOFT Phone Stand
When I’m working, I like to keep my phone visible and close to eye level instead of flat on the desk. I often switch between notes on my phone and what I’m doing on my laptop, and having my phone positioned next to my screen makes that back-and-forth much easier.
This stand attaches using MagSafe and adjusts to different heights and angles. Keeping my phone closer to eye level helps reduce neck strain and makes multitasking feel less distracting.
It’s also incredibly slim, so it doesn’t feel like an extra item to pack. It lives in my bag, and I also use it on the plane to watch shows while flying.
2. MOFT Laptop Stand
This is one of those small things that makes a big difference, especially if you work for longer stretches.
I used to travel with a bulky laptop stand, but it took up too much space and added unnecessary weight. This one folds completely flat and stays attached to my laptop, so I don’t even notice it until I need it.
It raises my laptop just enough to bring the screen closer to eye level, which helps a lot with posture when working from less-than-ideal desks or tables.
3. Apple AirPods With Noise Cancellation
Noise cancellation is essential for me when I’m working while traveling.
These are great on planes, but I also use them constantly in coffee shops and coworking spaces. Sometimes I’m not even listening to anything. I just turn the noise cancellation on so I can focus.
They create a quiet bubble that makes it much easier to get real work done in busy environments.
4. Belkin iPhone Camera Mount for Laptops
This is one of my favorite upgrades for working remotely while traveling.
The Belkin camera mount lets me use my phone as a webcam, which is a huge improvement over the built-in laptop camera. I use this for important video calls, client sessions, and content creation.
It attaches securely with MagSafe and feels stable once it’s in place. If you’re on video regularly while traveling and want better quality without extra equipment, this is a great option.
5. Airalo eSIM for International Data
When I travel internationally, Airalo is something I always use.
Airalo lets you use an eSIM so you can access mobile data without dealing with physical SIM cards or expensive international data plans. I’ve used it most recently in Japan and Mexico, and it worked seamlessly.
In Japan especially, some hotel WiFi wasn’t reliable. Having dependable mobile data meant I could navigate with Google Maps, message people, and get work done without stressing about finding a connection.
If you work online while traveling internationally, this removes a lot of friction.
