How to Make a Fixed Header in Squarespace 7.1

CSS

Do you want your header to keep showing as your visitor scrolls down your site? Here’s how to make sure your logo and navigation are always visible.

These instructions are for the newest version, Squarespace 7.1.

Watch this video walkthrough or follow the simple steps below.

Step 1. Edit the Site Header

After you log into Squarespace 7.1 and have your website page open, click EDIT in the upper left of your website. Then roll over your header area and click EDIT SITE HEADER.

Step 2. Change the Site Header Style

Click to the STYLE tab, then turn on Fixed Position using the toggle button. Make sure the next toggle underneath (you may have to scroll a bit) for Fixed Header Style is set to Basic. This means the header is visible at all times. If you instead select Scroll Back, the header is only visible when you start reverse scrolling the site back toward the top.

Step 3. Save your Work

When you’ve finished setting the header style, make sure to click DONE > Save in the upper left of your page to apply your changes.
